
William G. Anderson, DO will launch his new book, The Making of a (PARDONED) Felon During the Civil Rights Movement in America on Monday, March 17th at 6 pm (ET). The book launch webinar is free of charge and is open to the public; click here to register.
Dr. William Gilchrist Anderson, a US Navy Veteran, received national attention during the 1960s as the President of the Albany Movement. Thereafter, he distinguished himself as an Osteopathic physician, surgeon, educator, and hospital administrator. He also rose through the ranks to become the first Black President of the American Osteopathic Association.
This historic virtual book launch will celebrate Dr. Anderson’s life and Osteopathic journey during the American Civil Rights Movement. A national treasure and change agent in our nation’s history, Dr. Anderson is “the physician who helped heal American democracy.”
The webinar will start with a brief introduction, followed by a discussion with Dr. Anderson. He will provide insights and answer questions related to the book through a Q&A session moderated by Bankole Thompson, Nationally Acclaimed Journalist, Detroit News Columnist, Former Editor of the Michigan Chronicle, Podcast Host, and Accomplished Author.
Participants in the webinar will have first access to the book as a link to purchase the book will be made available during the launch for all attendees.
Per Dr. Anderson’s request, 100% of all proceeds from the sale of this book for the entirety of its publication, will be donated to the William G. Anderson, DO, Scholarship Fund at the AOF.
Dr. Anderson established the William G. Anderson, DO, Scholarship Fund at the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) in 1998. The Fund annually recognizes Osteopathic medical students who are committed to Osteopathic principles and practices, excel academically, and have proven to be leaders in addressing educational and societal barriers, as well as addressing health care needs of minority populations.
This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the AOF William G. Anderson, DO, Scholarship Fund.
