The American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) is pleased to welcome Steven J. Heithoff, DO, FAOAO, to its Board of Directors for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2019.

Dr. Heithoff is an orthopedic hand surgeon currently in active practice at Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron, MI, which he joined in 1988. He is the past Chairman of the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery and past Section Chief, Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McLaren Port Huron Hospital.

Throughout his career, Dr. Heithoff has given back through leadership. He is a past President of the Michigan Hand Surgery Association, Michigan Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, and American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics.

Dr. Heithoff earned his DO degree from Des Moines University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1980. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery with subspecialty certification in hand surgery.

When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Heithoff enjoys playing basketball, golfing, running and participating in triathlons, kiteboarding, snowboarding, and traveling.
