The American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) recently welcomed Henry Knox, OMS II, as the Student Osteopathic Medical Association Foundation (SOMAF) representative to the Board of Directors for a two-year term on January 1, 2025.
“I am delighted to welcome Student Doctor Knox to the AOF Board of Directors,” said Board President, Scott Cyrus, DO. “We greatly value the perspective and commitment provided by Osteopathic medical students serving on our Board and I personally look forward to working with Henry to further develop the support and opportunities we provide.”

He also served as a Student Medical Volunteer on a team that operated free mobile health clinics and cared for over 500 patients in the villages of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic in 2024.
“Edward Via has been an advocate for, and partner of, the AOF for many years," says Matthew D. Cannon, DO, FACOFP, Dean, Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine - Carolinas Campus. "We applaud their depth and breadth, serving students across the entire nation. Student Doctor Knox’s empathy for others, dedication to his studies, and global view on medicine will bode well for his position on AOF’s Board. On behalf of VCOM’s four campuses, we wish him great success in advancing the Foundation’s mission.”
