The American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) partnered with 10 Osteopathic Specialty Associations and Hospital Programs to highlight outstanding physician residents in training programs across the county. These residents consistently provide exemplary patient care and serve as Osteopathic ambassadors, raising awareness of the quality care Osteopathic physicians provide.

Tylor Connor, DO

The AOF and American Osteopathic College of Radiology (AOCR) are honored to jointly recognize Tylor Connor, DO, as the recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Resident of the Year award in Radiology.

Dr. Connor earned a DO degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) and is currently completing a Radiology Residency at Brooke Army Medical Center.

Nicole Fremarek, DO, MBA

The AOF and American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) are honored to jointly recognize Nicole Fremarek, DO, as the recipient of the 2023 AAO Outstanding Resident of the Year in Osteopathy award.

Dr. Fremarek graduated from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCUCOM) and is currently pursuing a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Virginia.

Brian Handal, DO

The AOF and American Osteopathic Academy of Osteopathy (AOAO) are honored to jointly recognize Brian Handal, DO, as the recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Resident of the Year in Orthopedics award.

Dr. Handal earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine (DMUCOM). He was Orthopedic Surgery Chief Resident at Kettering Health and is currently taking part in a Spine Fellowship at Florida Orthopedic Institute.

Grace Kim, DO

The AOF and Cleveland Clinic are honored to jointly recognize Grace Kim, DO, as the recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Resident of the Year in General Surgery award.

Dr. Kim received her DO degree in 2021 from A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) and is currently a General Surgery Resident at South Pointe Hospital, Cleveland Clinic.

Michael Matthews, DO

The AOF and American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI) are honored to jointly recognize Michael Matthews, DO, as the recipient of the 2023 ACOI Outstanding Resident of the Year in Internal Medicine award.

Dr. Matthews, a graduate of Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM), completed his Internal Medicine training at Kettering Health System (formerly Grandview Medical Center) in 2023. Currently, he is a Sports Medicine Fellow at Western Michigan University, Homer Stryker School of Medicine.

Allan Migirov, DO

The AOF and the American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiology (AOCA) are honored to jointly recognize Allan Migirov, DO, as the recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Resident of the Year in Anesthesiology award.

Dr. Migirov earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYIT-COM) and is currently completing an Anesthesiology residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Brooke Neumann, DO

The AOF and the Medical Education Foundation of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (MEFACOOG) are honored to jointly recognize Brooke Neumann, DO, as the recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Resident of the Year in Obstetrics and Gynecology Award.

Dr. Neumann is a 2021 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). She aspires to become a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist, driven by her deep care for the patients she serves. She is currently in residency at Inspira Health Network, working towards her goal.

Shikha Patel, DO

The AOF and American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) are honored to jointly recognize Shikha Patel, DO as the recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Resident of the Year in Family Medicine award.

Dr. Patel graduated from Rowan-Virtua University School of Osteopathic Medicine and is currently a resident at Columbia University/New York- Presbyterian Hospital Family Medicine.

Samantha (Sammi) Tyler, DO

The AOF and American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians (ACOP) are honored to jointly recognize Samantha Tyler, DO, as the recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Resident of the Year in Pediatrics award.

Dr. Tyler earned her DO degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine (DMUCOM) and is currently in a Pediatric Residency program at the University of Wisconsin.

Lucas Wright, DO

The AOF and Franciscan Health are honored to jointly recognize Lucas Wright, DO, as the recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Resident of the Year in General Surgery award.

Dr. Wright graduated from the University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM) in 2019 and is currently a General Surgical Resident at Franciscan Health in Olympia Fields, Illinois.
