The AOF is pleased to announce the 2023 recipient of the Prairie State Scholarship is Alec Bold, OMS III, of the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM).

“When I was told about AOF’s Prairie State Scholarship, it made me reflect on that high school kid in senior year when the journey first began,” says Student Doctor Bold. “(My) education at Belleville West…ultimately sparked my interest in healthcare after taking anatomy. Not only did the content of anatomy steer me toward the field of the health sciences but the teacher of the course supported my ambitions and provided the support needed to go for it even if it felt uncertain.”

The AOF Prairie State Scholarship was created through a collaborative partnership with the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society to provide financial assistance to Osteopathic medical students who graduated from an Illinois high school.
