The American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) is pleased to announce the election of Laura Rosch, DO, CS, MS, FACOI, to the AOF Board of Directors for a three-year term starting on January 1, 2025. Dr. Rosch, an accomplished internal medicine physician and surgeon and dedicated medical educator and leader, as well as a wellness advocate, brings a wealth of experience to her new role.

Currently the Campus Dean for Rocky Vista University at Ivins, Utah and a Medical Consultant in the Chicago area, Rosch earned a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM). She chose to become a physician because of her desire to serve others, and the Osteopathic philosophy of body, mind, and spirit was consistent with her values.

Early in her career, Dr. Rosch served as a clinical instructor and preceptor for CCOM. She then became the director of the Transitional Internship program as well as the Osteopathic Internal Medicine Residency program at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago where she received the outstanding clinical instructor award. She returned to CCOM to serve both as the Department Chair of Internal Medicine and Executive Dean. More recently, she served as Dean of the Joplin Campus for Kansas City University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, was a clinical instructor at the Old Irving Park Community Clinic in Chicago, IL, and served as the Department Chair for Internal Medicine at the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine.

In addition, Dr. Rosch currently serves on the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) Board of Deans, the American Osteopathic Association House of Delegates, and is a board member of the American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI). She is the past president of the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society and the past Medical Representative for Kansas City University’s Joplin Health Department, a position she held during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Rosch says she looks forward to her time on the AOF’s Board and wants to help the AOF continue to build its impact on the profession.

“As a dean, scholarships are critical so that our students don’t have to worry about finances and can focus on their studies, and, to pursue research opportunities. The new AOF Osteopathic Research Incubator Grants for medical students celebrate and encourage Osteopathic excellence and open new doors for discovery. As a Board member, I want to help students connect with the Foundation so that they can develop a life-long relationship with the AOF and maintain that relationship as one of their many connections to the profession.”

“We are honored to have Dr. Rosch join the AOF Board of Directors,” says the Foundation’s CEO, Rita Forden. "Her commitment to educating the next generation of Osteopathic physicians as well as her work as a connector between people and organizations, will bring a valuable set of skills and knowledge to the Board.”
