The American Osteopathic Foundation is delighted to announce the restart of its International Medical Outreach Travel Stipends, marking a significant step forward in its commitment to global healthcare initiatives.
These stipends, specifically designed to facilitate global medical outreach efforts, offer crucial financial support to Osteopathic medical professionals engaged in international medical outreach trips.
“While facing challenges posed by the global pandemic, we temporarily halted international initiatives due to COVID-19 travel restrictions,” noted Rita Forden, AOF CEO. “This renewed commitment signifies our dedication, and that of our funding partner DOCARE International, to advancing Osteopathic medicine globally, providing vital financial support to those participating in international medical outreach trips.”
Since 2009, the American Osteopathic Foundation has funded nearly 300 Osteopathic medical students, physicians, and organizations doing valuable medical outreach in 45 countries.
The International Medical Outreach program was made possible through a bequest to the AOF from Julian and Esther Rossnick in honor of their daughter, Joni B. Rossnick, DO, as well as funds provided by DOCARE International.
