The AOF Thomas A. Quinn, DO Osteopathic Scholarship was made possible through a generous contribution from Thomas A. Quinn, DO, and his beloved wife Sissy, and is intended to recognize students in the profession who exemplify what it means to be an Osteopathic physician. 

Purpose
This Fund provides up to three (3) annual scholarships of $7,500 to OMS II or III students in good academic standing (top 50% of class).

Scholarship

Three (3) educational scholarship award in the amount of $7,500 each will be presented to three (3) individuals; distributed in two equal payments, for two consecutive years, provided the student remains in good academic standing and continues their Osteopathic medical career.

Eligibility

• Student in good standing at a College/School of Osteopathic Medicine (COM/SOM) who will be an OMS-II or OMS-III during the 2025-2026 academic year.
• If the COM/SOM ranks students, applicant must be in the top 50% of their class (displaying strong academic achievement while in medical school).
• Applicant should have noteworthy accomplishments, awards and honors, special projects, and extracurricular activities that demonstrate a commitment to Osteopathic philosophy.
• Demonstrated participation in school and community activities outside of any academic requirements; may include leadership in professionally related organizations and activities while in Osteopathic medical school.
• Complimentary student membership in the AOA required.

Application Requirements

• A completed online application – self nominations accepted.
• A Letter of Good Standing from the Dean or their representative confirming a strong (top 50%) academic standing and verification that, if received, this award will not render the student illegible for other grant or scholarship opportunities within the school.
• Two (2) letters of recommendation from the following list: academic medical instructor, Osteopathic physician, professional mentor, or similar professional within the Osteopathic profession that describe how the applicant exemplifies the purpose of the award. NOTE: one must be from an Osteopathic physician.
• One page personal statement addressing how the applicant exemplifies what it means to be an Osteopathic physician.
• Curriculum vitae or resume (include all memberships, Osteopathic or other).
• Proof of AOA membership.

Review Process

Applications close August 18, 2025. Incomplete applications will NOT be reviewed. Applicants will be notified in October and approved scholarships will be disbursed prior to December 31, 2025 upon completion of the required paperwork.
