The American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) is pleased to announce that Carolyn Torgersen has been selected as its new Director of Marketing and Mission Communications. A multi-talented professional and award-winning PR executive well versed in the nuances of nonprofit management, Torgersen brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing communications, fundraising and grants management.
After a very thorough search and interview process, Carolyn joined the AOF team on March 23, 2020. As Director for all marketing and communications efforts, she will develop and execute high-performing strategies to drive AOF brand awareness in new and existing markets and strengthen the AOF brand identity as the key philanthropic partner supporting osteopathic medicine and professionals worldwide.
Most recently, Carolyn worked as a Marketing, Communications and Public Relations Consultant to a variety of clients across multiple industries, using her innovative approach to create marketing campaigns, manage brand reputation and administer grants.

Carolyn previously spent 15 years at the Community Foundation of Lowcountry, a philanthropic nonprofit organization based on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. As its Vice President for Marketing and Communications, she led efforts to increase brand awareness, grew revenue and launched successful public initiatives. She also served as head of Public Relations for The IDEA Center, where she oversaw all communications, website development, and doubled their presence on social media. She is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
