The AOF is pleased to award Suburban Family Medicine's Health Promoters Program with its 2018 Caring for Communities Grant!
Suburban Family Medicine is a clinic providing osteopathic care to the undeserved population of the Philadelphia suburbs, including many immigrants and first generation Americans. The clinic's Health Promoters Program strives to break down barriers for disadvantaged populations and improve access to health care for those in the most need.
Through the Health Promoters Program, Suburban Family Medicine's residency program holds monthly health events for the community. These events are held at the local community center and include blood pressure checks, cholesterol and glucose screenings, as well as physicals for both adults and children. In addition, staff also provides OMT to patients.
This partnership with the community has fostered an ever-growing relationship with the immigrant community within Philadelphia.
Congratulations to Suburban Family Medicine's Health Promoters Program!
